Genocide – Middle Eastern Christians know it, but the State Department won’t say it

Despite a foreign-policy mandate to speak out against religious persecution, the United States government has so far been silent on whether this epic religious cleansing of Christians, Yazidis, and other minorities from the heart of the Middle East ranks among the gravest of crimes. With pressure mounting, the State Department in October leaked word that an official genocide designation would be forthcoming but made clear that State would recognize only a Yazidi genocide and not one against Christians.

State Department Will Ignore Christian Genocide By ISIS

We recently learned that a State Department finding is imminent that ISIS is committing genocide against the Yazidis. We would wholeheartedly endorse that finding, but we are deeply troubled by the prospect that the Department’s statement will either omit or reserve judgment on whether ISIS is committing genocide against Christians.

State Department Won’t Admit Syrian Christian Refugees – But Muslims Are Openly Welcomed

Over the past five years of Syria’s civil war, the United States has admitted a grand total of 53 Syrian Christian refugees, a lone Yazidi, and fewer than ten Druze, Bahá’ís, and Zoroastrians combined. That so few of the Syrian refugees coming here are non-Muslim minorities is due to American reliance on a United Nations refugee-resettlement program that disproportionately excludes them.

Ideological Jihadist Victory Confounds Experts

Although free countries like the United States lack the legal and religious authority to define Islam, they can forthrightly stand for the Declaration of Independence’s “unalienable Rights” as during the Cold War. Under these moral “laws of Nature and of Nature’s God,” conscientious Muslims and non-Muslims could reject theological bases for human rights abuses.

U.S. State Dept. Bars Christians From Testifying About Persecution

Sister Diana, an influential Iraqi Christian leader, who was scheduled to visit the U.S. to advocate for persecuted Christians in the Mideast, was denied a visa by the U.S. State Department even though she had visited the U.S. before, most recently in 2012.

Washington Free Beacon Exposes Muslim Brotherhood Meeting With State Department

The State Department met quietly with members of the Muslim Brotherhood last month and misled the American people on the nature of the meeting. A Muslim Brotherhood member who attended the meeting has now admitted that a White House official also attended the meeting.
