The reality of attacks on Christianity can still be seen in Iraq. At a church the Cross on Sunday School doors has been desecrated and the writing of the Islamic State still says, “The Cross must be broken” The church as looted just as were Christian homes and businesses.

The April mission trip to Nigeria – Part 2

Remains of the Agatu Church. Only the shell remains but services are still held there where 113 died.

We drove south for many hours from Makurdi and stopped briefly at Agatu town, then headed to the village where the attack occurred.  When the paved road stopped we had to change cars to continue at under five miles per hour on a dirt road that was more path than road.



Why the sudden rush for passage of HR-390?

The bill was on hold by the Senate Leadership until the last week of April, when it was suddenly put on  a “fast track” as an election tool to get Christians to vote Republican this fall. But it simply was not the same bill that passed the House last year and Senator Rand Paul was right to put a hold on it until Senator Corker’s language is removed.

Before arriving at the IDP camp we stopped by the “Modern Market” We were there to buy diapers and feminine products, as we had been told there was a desperate need for them at this particular camp.

Our Easter event at the orphanage had to be cut short to move children out of the camp for safety. The orphanage is under constant threat as are all Christian institutions in the “Middle Belt.” All we can really do is show love and support by helping wherever we can.



Visit to a bombed church

Car the suicide bomber drove on the grounds of the church as a reminder.

On Easter Sunday, I attended one of the churches that had been bombed in 2012.  That was a bad year for church bombings in Nigeria; many hundreds died and thousands were injured while in worship services at their churches.
