Attack on Greek Orthodox cathedral in Damascus leaves at least four people dead

Damascus: A suicide bomber mingled with a group of people queuing for food and other basic necessities handed out by a Christian charity. No final figure for the dead and wounded is available. The target was one of the oldest churches in the capital, the cathedral in Bab Tuma is the seat of the Greek Orthodox Church of Antioch.

“It is clear that American taxpayer dollars are being used in a war against Christianity,” Senator Rand Paul told an audience at the Faith and Freedom Coalition’s Road to Majority conference this week. “It angers me to see my tax dollars supporting regimes that put Christians to death for blasphemy against Islam, countries that put to death Muslims who convert to Christianity, and countries who imprison anyone who marries outside their religion.”

U.S. Congress: Calls To Cut Off Egypt Aid Due To Civil Suppression
