Obama’s Syrian rebels: Sheik smashes statue of Virgin Mary

This past week there were two events in Syria that should define who is who in the conflict. In the areas controlled by President Assad’s secular government a  statue of Jesus Christ standing more than 100 foot high was erected on a mountain. The statue can be seen from Lebanon, Jordan and Israel. In contrast, in the areas of Syria held by “rebels” supported by President Barack Obama and Senator John McCain a statuette of the Virgin Mary was smashed.

A grandiose sculptural composition – the statue of Jesus Christ, 39-meter-high – called “I have come to save the world” has been placed on the legendary Cherubs’ Mountain in Syria. This statue that can be well seen from Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine, and Israel is the symbol of peace not only in Syria but also in the whole Middle East Region

Congressmen defend statue of Jesus in Montana Park

Eighteen Members of the House of Representatives signed an amicus curiae brief filed by the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) urging a federal court to dismiss a lawsuit filed by the Freedom From Religion Foundation against a World War II memorial statue of Jesus in Montana’s Flathead National Forest.

Veterens Cemetery Orders Volunteers To Stop Saying “God Bless You”

Local veterans and volunteer groups accuse Department of Veterans Affairs officials of censoring religious speech — including the word “God” – at Houston National Cemetery.

In one example cited in documents filed this week in federal court, cemetery director Arleen Ocasio reportedly told volunteers with the National Memorial Ladies that they had to stop telling families “God bless you” at funerals and that they had to remove the words “God bless” from condolence cards.
