Kidnapped Bishops in “Good health”

The Daily Star in Lebanon is reporting that Greek Orthodox Archbishop Boulos Yazigi and Syriac Orthodox Archbishop Yohanna Ibrahim are still held by U.S. supported Islamists in a small village north of Aleppo but that they are in good health.

Pressure mounts to release kidnapped Syrian bishops

RT reports that an Islamic organization has also requested that the US supported Islamist fighters release the kidnapped Syrian Bishops.The Greek Orthodox Church has called for their release and the Russian Orthodox Church has published several statements condemning the act and has calling for them to be freed. The patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill the first wrote to Russian President Vladimir Putin asking him to try and ensure the bishops’ early release.

Kidnapped Aleppo archbishops not released

on Tuesday, the Syrian Orthodox Patriarchate in Damascus said in a statement that it had not received “any official document indicating the (bishops’) release.” The statement was posted on the Patriarchate’s website.

Persecution of Christians Rising in Islamic Countries

Egypt: protesters ‘killed by gunshot’ as death toll rises to 35 in third day of violence

The Telegraph, a London, UK newspaper is reporting 35 dead in demonstrations in Cairo, Egypt. Demonstrators are demanding “democracy” just a few days before a democratic election for a new parliament. How odd is this and why did the demonstrators stream out of mosques beginning after prayers on Friday? The demonstrations are not students or secularist, but rather Islamists. Why do Muslim leaders want to disrupt the election next week?
